How to Create Purchase Requisition, Requisitions through Planning in Oracle Apps(PO)

Requisitions will be generated automatically using Planning. The status of all requisitions created through planning will be ‘Approved.’

Viewing Requisitions through Planning

  1. Go to the window labeled ‘Find Requisitions.’
  2. Select MSC from the LOV in the ‘Import Source’ field.

5. Click onto the Lines tab to see the details. The Approval status is ‘Approved’ for all the requisitions.

To Enter Requisition Details

  1. Go to the Requisition screen to create a requisition.
  2. “Type” will be set to Purchase Requisition by default.
  3. For creating requisitions for goods, job work, and outside processing, enter the line type available in the LOV.

  1. For Item: • Select the item for which the requisition is to be created.• The Item Definition will take care of the item category, description, and UOM.

5. Enter the requisitioned item quantity.

6. Enter the requisition rate for the item.

7. Don’t forget to save the “Need by” date.

8. Preparer: This is the user who is filling up the requisition.

  1. For expenditure items, choose Expense, and for Inventory items, choose Inventory.
  2. From the list of organization, choose the one for which the requisition will be produced.
  3. From the LOV, choose the appropriate place for the corresponding organization.

Note :

  1. The Ship Inventory Organization will be selected by default in the Requisition Form.
  2. For cost items, the destination type will be expense, and for inventory items, inventory.
  3. When the Requisition is created, its ‘Status’ will be ‘Incomplete.’ The status of the requisition will immediately change to ‘Approved’ once it has been approved by the final approving authority, and it will be eligible for quotation / purchase order.

Requisition Additional Details:

  1. Requisition Type: Requisitions can be divided into two categories.

i) Internal requisition – This is a form that is used to request materials from within an organization.

ii) Purchase Requisition – Used to order things from a third-party vendor.

  1. Status of the Requisition: The approval status of your requisition is automatically displayed by Purchasing and is one of the following:

a) Approved: It is Finally Approved and Purchase Order can be created.
b) Cancelled: Requisition is canceled.
c) In Process: Pending for approval by higher authority.
d) Incomplete: requisition is in incomplete status. It has not been submitted for approval and may be some more information is required.
e) Rejected: Requisition has been rejected by the authorities.

3.   Navigate to the  Source  Details  tabbed  region.  When  the  source  type  is Supplier, user can enter the Note to Buyer, Buyer, RFQ required, and Supplier Item number.

4.   Save your work.

  1. After you save the transaction, the “Approve” button on the requisition is enabled, and the system creates a Requisition Number.
  2. The required details of the request form can be entered in the description area.
  3. Finally, click the Approve tab to send the requisition up the hierarchy for approval.

Note: Before sending the requisition for approval, the status will be ‘Incomplete,’ and the user will be able to make any modifications. The status of the Requisition will change to ‘In Process’ once it has been forwarded for approval, and no revisions are permitted.

Requisition templates are handy for regularly ordered items.The entry of requisitions will be faster if you use the Requisition Template.

Entering Requisitions using Requisition Template

1.  Open the requisition form and click onto the Catalog  tab

2.  Select a requisition template from the Requisition template List Of Values (LOV)

3.  Now click into Find

  1. Now go to the ‘Requisition Template’ tab.This will display all of the items defined in the requisition template currently in use.

  1. On the Order Pad, click the Add tab to choose the products individually.
    The order pad serves as the foundation for requisition lines. Quantity, Price (Unit Price Can Be Given), Need By Date, Organization, Location, and Destination Type should all be filled out.All of the fields have the same meaning as previously mentioned.Enter Requisition Information.

  1. Select the lines from the request template that need to be put to the Order pad in the same way that you did in step 5.
  2. Select any line in the order pad that needs to be removed and click the Remove tab.
    From the Order Pad, that line will be removed.

  1. Next, select the Select tab. In the request, all of the lines defined in the order tab will be defaulted as requisition lines.

9.  Save it,Requisition number  will be generated.

  1. Finally, select the Approve tab to submit the demand for approval. The rest of the procedure for approving the requisition is the same as it was in the previous sections.
